Living in the US since August ‘95 and still longing for many food items my native country, Turkey, has to offer.  Over the years I learned how to bring the taste that I have been missing to my own homw here.  Hence, here you will find recipes that have mostly Turkish origin, just like I have.

    hi.your blog is one of my favorite.congratulations for your beautifull work.i am from greece.i send you this mail about 2 things.one is ammonia cake.greeks who came frm minor asia make this desert and call napoleon.they make double recipe in a larger pan.they use sometimes oil and they serve dessert with walnuts and cinnamon or coconut.so the recipe is oldest from 1922.i dont know the origin of recipe. 2.i am interesting of turkish version of acma and kete.kete is a very traditional recipe from cappadokia .people in kappadokia made since 4 century AC or before.greeks from kappadokia use a mix of flour and butter to put inside kete.greeks from silifki use yogurt and cheese.i saw recipes in other blogs but i cant read in turkish.thanks a lot.continue your work
