Cezerye

Today marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. Muslims who have been fasting from dawn to sunset, every day of this month would get together and celebrate. In Turkey, it is now a tradition to visit family and friends, and you’d be served sweets. Hence, many people (including my family) would refer to this festival that lasts for 3 days as “Sweet Festival.”

Since Islamic calendar depends on the lunar calendar, the end of Ramadan may be tomorrow for some. It is kind of confusing. :)

Please accept my cezerye as a sweet that I’d like to share on this special day. It is one of the few speaciality culinary items from my home town which I will share its recipe here, as well.

Happy eid’l fitr everyone!
